Common use
Emulgel Gel is used for supporting joint and muscle health by managing musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, strains, sprains and inflammation. It contains Diclofenac Diethylamine, which may help reduce pain and swelling by blocking the chemical messenger responsible for inflammation. This gel helps in managing low back pain, post-traumatic pain and other conditions affecting muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments.
Dosage and direction
Clean and dry the affected area before applying the gel. Take a small amount of Emulgel and gently massage it into the skin until fully absorbed. Apply 3 to 4 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Precautions
The use of Emulgel during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended unless specifically advised by a doctor. It should be avoided especially in the third trimester due to potential risks to the developing fetus.
Patients with severe liver or kidney disease should use Emulgel with caution. Consultation with a doctor is advised to assess suitability and monitor for potential side effects.
Contraindications
Emulgel is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to diclofenac or other NSAIDs.
It should not be used on open wounds, infections, or broken skin.
Possible side effect
Side effects of Emulgel: Skin redness; Itching; Burning sensation at the application site; Dryness of the skin; Gastrointestinal issues like stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea or constipation.
Drug interaction
Emulgel may interact with other topical NSAIDs (like ketoprofen), oral NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen), and anticoagulants (like warfarin). These interactions could affect the effectiveness and increase the risk of side effects.
Missed dose
If you forget to apply Emulgel at the scheduled time, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
Overdose
An overdose of Emulgel might lead to excessive redness, burning, or irritation at the application site. If these symptoms occur, washing the area with cool water and avoiding further application is advised until speaking with a doctor.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Temperature not exceeding 30 degree celsius. Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze.
